Sorry Toad but you were not the people I was referring to when I mentioned assisting WMW with programming knowledge.  However it is nice to feel that I helped to teach you something.

@GS: you want me to prove I can programme and understand the protocol?  I'm happy to release to the public a binary and the src of my primary client I have?  Would that prove I know what I'm talking about?  Surely it cannot be any more devastating to the network than the protocol docs that were leaked?  You know as well as most that I understand and can write from scratch parts of the network.  I've re-written parts of the standard Nushi wpn encryption to make it more efficent even so to claim otherwise when you haven't seen my work is as bad as the comments I've made above.  Or the basis of the chat client I was working on?  Or the patch I was re-writing?  Oh but I don't understand how the network works do I?

I have never received any help from yourself Rebelmx in fact I have made a point never to look at any code you have tried to proffer simply because I didn't want you to claim at any stage that you had any hand in writing the new client, I know that might sounds a bit mean in the first instance but it was always going to be an open src program and nothing you have worked on ever has been and I for one wanted a clean firewall betwen those who wanted to work for the community and those who wanted simply to lord over folks and not share anything while taking the work of others freely.

I don't care what you do RebelMX as you obviously have your own selfish agenda and I have made it clear I don't want my time wasted, please desist from your obvious attempts to waste my time, one of us has worked for over a year with other good people to deliver a client for the community and one of us has sat about claiming that they can do this and that and has yet to deliver anything of worth, I intend to let the community decide which of us is which, I hope you feel ashamed of yourself for even attempting to play these childish games when the folks need coders to undertake real work instead of sitting idle.

I haven't seen your work and thus I cant say it even exists, because that's the value of hoarding code instead of sharing it for the good of all , its worthless.  Do not waste my time any further.

Sorry GS but maybe you read too much into the assisting WMW staff as also it was not you I meant.  I worked hard with Piney and have discussed and shared code with Will who is working on the client also.  He has seen (maybe even attempted to use some code portions as I offered those freely with him in the early patch work?) src for both the chat and primary client that I wrote from scratch.  This lead me to find several errors in your protocol docs, so I will be interested to see if these are corrected in the new client.  Just because you haven't witnessed my own code doesn't mean to say it exists.  Toad has even had a full copy of the src (unfortunately I don't think he understood much but he tried) so I have never exactly hidden my code away from the light, just away from you to avoid you claiming I wrote it on behalf of WMW, when in fact it was written for the community.  I am a community developer, I just have no real need to be linked or tied into any group on winmx, people are free to use my code if they want, all I want is some recognition that they were assisted, hardly the mean ogre you make me out to be.

I recall you pointing out one error, which you later retracted, i certainly dont re-call you ever pointing out several errors.

You know whats funny, i think ghostship can see into the future, he been saying for ages the fact you shared some stripped down wcs code that could listen and print out a few packets was classed as a complete working primary model. You severely have no idea.

BTW thank-you making me post to your bullshit, i normally try to steer away from getting involved with any of your crap but im kinda sick of Ghost defending the work round here from copy/paste backseat coders.

The client doesn't contain any of your code, you frequently post talking about your huge fountain of knowledge of the primary protocol yet you seem to know only the very basics of it which you could copy/paste out of wcs. Your discussion any time only seems to orientate around you being able to keep wcs connected to the network, something you have a vested interest in as you share a modified version of, yet it is abandonware. If you was this master coder we could of surely expected some update to this client that at least attempts to filter the traffic, but no, no new amazing swathes of professional code added to it that im aware of.

And you contribute nothing else, no code, no time and we are really short on patience of listening to you self proclaim yourself as some master coder, next you will be saying if it wasn't for you we wouldn't have a new client. Or ghost would never of been able to write the documents.

Those that don't agree with the new client project need to step aside, and stop trying to derail the project.  Your not doing the work. If you don't like whats being done then start your own projects, and do your own work.  You are not doing the work, and it's none of your concern. This project is for the community, and not your own personal needs.

Wait, you think my idea of the primary protocol is just 1 packet used in chatservers?
LOL

If GS hasn't looked at the src provided then how can he claim that its just a cut down version of WCS?  LOL  I know for a fact it is actually self-written code (which is clear from the style and actual code) which bears perhaps 1% resemblance to WCS (since that what I learnt on to read and write C).  Tiny, if your such a proud man perhaps you should take a look at the code and tell me how much it looks like WCS just to clear opinions once and for all?  I've nothing to hide.

The comments about copy and paste are clearly wrong, as it was I that spotted regionalisation within the primary protocol, which are packets that do not have anything to do with chat servers.  I've studied the primary protocol from start to finish, and I have self tested each and every packet to test what the data variables actually are (rather than rely on the now public docs).  That sort of understanding doesn't come purely from copy and pasting code, it comes from writing your own and then fixing any errors in your own code.

You didn't seem to think I was just copy and pasting here http://forum.winmxworld.com/index.php/topic,6502.msg62974.html#msg62974
Oh and a complete correction to the protocol documentation http://forum.winmxworld.com/index.php/topic,6499.msg63272.html#msg63272
Further assistance provided http://forum.winmxworld.com/index.php/topic,6507.msg56525.html#msg56525 and http://forum.winmxworld.com/index.php/topic,6507.msg66570.html#msg66570 and http://forum.winmxworld.com/index.php/topic,11018.msg64441.html#msg64441 and http://forum.winmxworld.com/index.php/topic,11162.msg64534.html#msg64534
And here is an entire thread on this very same project http://forum.winmxworld.com/index.php/topic,11278.msg64995.html#msg64995 why the sudden change of opinions on it now WMW?  Seemed fairly positive when you were all working on a patch and I had begun work on a primary client...
you get the idea

So clearly as a developer either I'm (A) extremely lucky to stumble across these while copy/pasting or (B) I am actually doing my bit to assist and know what I'm talking about...

New client needs to set up a trust between other primaries and let winmx work only as a secondary.
enough said?

Good luck writing your new program :)

I dont like being lied to so just tell the truth exactly when is this "new client" going to be ready?

Breath not held  :(

Your fully aware I haven't looked at your code so please stop with the misleading activity its becoming tedious, I have looked through your links and they show you at your best but they miss out much of what you have negatively posted in the chat room, thus allowing you to create a false impression of events, another questionable tactic.

Please stop burdening wmw and myself in particular with your inferiority complex, your not me and you haven't done the things I have, revel in your own life and adventures, I do want to believe life has good things in mind for you too even if you are crass and pedantic sometimes but its just wrong to keep attacking me simply to make yourself feel more of a man, just be yourself please.

Hi Ants, I'm sorry you feel you have been "lied to", I had hoped we had kept all of the folks informed with my regular snippets of progress information and the occassional images to show off features that are completed, as always I ask you to remember that we are a small development team and there is no wish to drop a "lemon" build on the community, so I ask of you to  please be patient a tad further, the project is still healthy and  continuing but work and other commitments mean I really would be lying if I invented a date and posted.

My thanks for your understanding  :)

The status of the project has been posted many times in the last month often with mention of some feature being worked on or delayed but the major delay atm is really the transfers section is not up to the quality we need from it.

Much effort is still going into other small areas but thats the main holdup and when its resolved a few betas will come flying out the door but theres little point in doing that when what we have to offer is not as good as what you currently have, I hope this brings you up to speed with our efforts and rest assured the developers know the community is getting a little impatient but also know your a picky bunch and thus second best wont do.
