Still won't allow me to share!!!!!!!!!!!
« on: July 11, 2006, 01:12:39 pm »
CAN ANYONE HELP?? I have downloaded patches, MX monitor, changed all the settings as per the help advise ( Set things to ' No ' , etc ), allocated Ports and exemptions with my firewall and people STILL cannot download from me. I can download from other people but no-one can get a single kb from me. It is getting really frustrating as I get cut if people only wanna share files. I am running XP with all the latest service packs downloaded. ANY IDEAS???

No uploads indicates TCP blocked somewhere, firewall router config or Norton Internet Worm Protection (part of the Anti Virus), if you STILL can't get uploads started with TCP set to unable, then suspect either Firewall or Norton (if you have it).

Many firewalls are funny about program version changes, so particularly if your version changed when installing patch (you didn't select existing version for instance) then removing the firewall rules you have & making new ones resolves this, I suspect the same may be true with worm protection, although I haven't tested this as having a firewall (Sygate though all good ones do) that duplicates the function (program control) I simply disabled it entirely, & just left the AV active.
Blessed is he who expecteth nothing, for he shall not be disappointed.

With Quick-Reply you can write a post when viewing a topic without loading a new page. You can still use bulletin board code and smileys as you would in a normal post.
