low spec emulation?
« on: August 11, 2008, 02:39:18 AM »
ello used linux for bout 4 years
not an expert or anything just an adjusted user

my tower went out and im stuck on my old hp
433 mghz 256mb sdram that errors every 4 cycles

and well it barely runs fluxbox on pardus let alone try to handle wine
so basically what im looking for is another emulator that could run winmx that isnt gonna use as much mem/cpu cycles

any help appreciated =D

Wine Is Not an Emulator - it's even in the acronym ; )

but technicalities aside, there's no windows compatibility layer for linux that doesn't use the same core as wine.  if you were having technical problems, or if it was too complicated, i'm sure you could find a better solution, but performance problems?  sorry to say you're probably out of luck there.

i dont have a problem with compiling or anything just the system is laggy as fuck as is without trying to run wine due to the outdated and slowly decaying system
