ok bluey_412 here's what happens when i go to open the download it ask's me what language english of course then nothing happens after that.

i think you really need to give some more info Sam, like where do you get this winmx from, what exactly do you do (like do you download it or immediately install?), what s your operating system etc etc

okay josh on my old desktop my os is windows 98 i just bought a new laptop windows 7 as for where i got this i open the file & right after that it tells me what language then nothing happens.

are you trying to install it with administrator rights? win7 is kinda picky and secure

get it from http://patch.winmxconex.com, and click the links and buttons to select winmx 3.54b4 and Run the installer, do not save

sorry i disagree, i think there are better chances on succeeding if you download it first to desctop or any other prefered folder

and yes these winmx's that are offered at conex.com are good for win98, xp, vista and 7, for win7 you can read some tips a little lower in the forum

I looked at the redirects.  If you PING them... you notice there is no local names come up.  The redirect is looking for ? only.   This may help you fix this attack program.

ping doesnt work quite a few of the times... even if the wpn were not under attack....

No matter what song I seek--I get tons of nonsense and foreign language "hits," not what I asked for.  Is this experienced by others, and what can I do?

Everyone is experiencing this due to attacks on the network by a handful of disgruntled users of WinMx. A Fix is in the works, but there was been no news as of when to expect a fix to be completed.  Read this thread for further info. http://winmxworld.com/tutorials/wpn_attack_information_.html

I'm afraid the vandals win; I haven't been able to find a single thing on WinMx, through the fog of spam.  Unless some hero posts a fix, there's no use in my looking.

beach004 during this time, it helps to park in chat rooms that have names or topics that might suit your needs. Browses are unaffected, wont see any of the garbage in the browses.

Alternatively you could try opennap to find files as well. If your not familiar with opennap you can read this short tutorial
