I dont mind doing what you do, take cheap shots, let others do everything & whine about anything in general, sounds like a real easy life.

Just in case anyones forgotten to let you know this on facebook etc , you dont have to come here if you dont want to , enjoying the winmx network is what you should be focusing on, and dont you feel ashamed that its an older generation whom have provided all the contant on this site for the last 12 1/2 years for free with no ads ?

When you deliver something of worth to the community I may be more inclined to listen to your "noise" but until then I have provisionally pencilled you into my "wannabe important person" list, but dont rest up just yet as your not actually at the top of that list and extra work is definitely required..

winmx cannot make tcp connection on 6699
reset tcp to 6599, didn't work
confirmed tcp settings on winmx, mcafee and modem
restatrted, didn't help
tried winmx.com_help BABA1354BABE, came back to winmx
nothing show up on chat room
GOD THIS SITE IS IMPOSSIBLE TO LOG ONTO
HOW THE HELL MANY WAYS CAN YOU SPELL WINMXWORLD and winmx

Well done David, I always make a backup zip of my settings.dat file in case it becomes corrupt as has occured at intervals that might save some setup issues later on, winmx does have many error messages built into it but some problems fall through the cracks and have to be put down to the internet gods, anyway good to hear of your success in resolving your problem.

On the forum logging in issue I'm afraid we introduced that mechanism to combat spam bots and whilst it can be annoying it saves a lot of wasted staff time.

Can you fill in a few of the blanks for me with your setup info please, can you confirm your a secondary user & what model of modem do you have ?

One annoying issue with transfers is sometimes related to fake file listings so if you could enter a chat room and try to download a genuine file from a real user as a test that will help rule that out of the mix, also can you confirm whether your sharing something also as some folks run a program called mxmoni that can block non sharer,s most dont however but it would be good to rule out by doing the chatroom test I have suggested first.

Also try changing ports and restarting winmx as that can also be a cause of ISP inspired trouble.

confirmed udp/tcp setings on winmx/mcafee and att modum
shut down/restart
still time out
