Charlie it sounds like your talking about the 0 of 0 hack, and that is no anti leech too infact many here consider it to be the ultimate 'leeching tool, quite the oposite.
Basically being able to set your uploads to 0 slots means your not sharing anymore, and there are tools that DO work on vista with WinMX that can monitor to make sure that who you share with is also sharing and one of them 'Leechammer' even detects users using that 0 of 0 hack and automatically blocks them.
Let me know if your still confused by anything but both MXMonitor and Leechammer can be found on the turorials page with instruction and links for download. Tutorials link top of this page ...

I'm not sure why, but I had problems getting the 1.2 version to work also. So I uninstalled it, Ran the setup in version 1.1, then dropped the 1.2 leechhammer.exe on top of the old one, and everyting worked fine. Two other computers I set up, I used the same procedure, and it worked well there to.
It might be that the setup program of 1.2 is buggy, compared to the one in 1.1, but the program won't work correctly after without the 1.2 exe.
After setup, if I am using LH for auto-cheking, I set the interval for over 10 minutes (about 800 sec), so it doesn't run as often, as it seems to generate a resource leak or lockup, especially when running freqeuntly. I also like to unload and rerun it at least once a day to have it release any resources it may have tucked away.

ok when you open the zip file containing leech hammer does it also contain leech hammer.cab in a zip file and also setup.lst.......... if not i think you have the leech hammer upgrade in which case your going to need leech hammer for winmx 3.3x from the achieves here http://archive.winmxworld.com/LeecHammer/ this is one you want .LeecHammer 1.2 (For WinMX 3.53) - 120704.zip......... if your zip does contain all the 3 files i mentioned above they should all extract themselves to a setup file.......well it does for me........... so you may have to manually extract all 3 files to a folder and try setting it up that way ............... let us know how you get on
Ok, it let me setup this time and i used the default, C:\program files\leechhammer. Now there are a bunch of files in the leechhammer folder. What do i do now?

it shouldnt be as those two files belong to winmx.......... best thing would be to delete the leech hammer set up file that you have a re down load it to either your desk top or a folder were you can find it............. double click on it and it should start to set up let us know how you get on ...............
I deleted and downloaded again to my desktop. I double click on the zip file, then double click on setup and i get "setup cannot find C:\documents and settings\my name\desktop\setup.LST" . Setup is aborting

you will need to take the leech hammer set up file out of winmx folder put it on the desk top for now double click on it and it should install leech hammer to its own folder in c:/ programmes.......... you should end up with a icon on the desk top for leech hammer double click on leech hammer to start it note for some reason the auto start of winmx from leech hammer doesnt always work so manually start winmx you should be al ok from there any issues pop into this room for more detailed help WinMXWorld.com Help_E3D7EFD5BABE
It's not recognizing my desktop. Says it's aborting when i double click on setup. There is a settings and lib4 dat file in my winmx folder. Is that screwing the installation?
