sounds like issues with your isp (blocking/throttling/anti p2p software)keep trying to connect and see if it follows a pattern

in outgoing check the connect direct line & for incomming set to listen on port 6699

At least y'all can hook up. In downloading I get the message WinMX was unable to make outgoing TCP connection to its test's servers, End of download.  Some time ago I was instructed to go to my TCP/UDP site and change the settings, I would a appreciate the site again. Hopefully this will solve my problems. What do you think "O Wise One"?

Go to www.winmxworld.com and download winmx from there and install that. Before doing so, uninstall all other winmx versions that you might have...
Double check firewall rules and port settings.

also give details as to the system you are running smick so we can get you up and running eg os/security/connection/winmx version etc
