Have you set your machine to use Japanese as its main language or installed "Asian langauge support" in "region and language options" in the control panel ?

https://www.winmxworld.com/tutorials/winmx_japanese_language.html

Once you have done either of those things then prior to starting WinMX throw a "language.txt"  text file in and you should be able to use WinMX in another language with no problems

Important : Remember to rename the file you download language.txt or it will not work, good luck  :)

I don't understand why doesn't winMX support the ¥ sign, because in Japanese systems this is used instead of \ for file paths. I think I'm doing something wrong here.
I cannot start winMX because it will change my share folder path to E:\ which doesn't exist because it should be E:¥, selecting it manual doesn't work either because it automatically changes back to \ and I still can't start it.
plus, why is there no Japanese in the language selection during startup?

I cannot change my system to other languages because I'm already having enough trouble with non-Unicode programs as it is, if I change I will have a bunch of other programs having problems.
