Is there any difference between the hosts file on the italian website and this one?  is one a more comprehensive list of hosts?????
At least its GOING AGAIN !!!

Many thanks You computer wizards :D

This fix isn't a hosts file, doesn't have a fixed list that needs updating, & it addresses all known servers..

WITHOUT the hassle of manually updating to do so.

Hi Brian welcome...

I want you to get a patch from this page:

https://www.winmxgroup.com/

Look for the 'Get Version 1.9 of the patch here' and right click and save target as.  Make sure this file is 1.3MB in size when its done and then just double click and let it install for your operating system...

Let me know how this does for you..

i cannot get winmx to work

That means that your WinMX was running while you where attempting to install the Patch usually.

Make sure its off and try the installation again please..

Maryann.
I sent you a pm about getting you reconnected but for other users the Sherwood is a p2p firewall like program that helps to protect WinMX from the RIAA once you are connected as a primary.

me here

Hi,

I went to the site you said to go to, but I can only find Sherwood Beta v1.1.1b, not the version you said. And it won't work. I am lost. If you could help, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks,

Maryann

I clicked Win XP, but nothing happens. It says "Not able to write to file? Maybe you pressed wrong button." I don't know what that means. I pressed Win XP. What do I do? I have been trying to connect to Win MX since it closed in Sep, and am going nuts. I don't know what else to do.

The 1.9 patch will work fine on Windows 98, remember to set this option when you use the installer or you may have problems NT is for XP,Win2k etc and Win9X is what you require, although It should detect this automatically..

Give this another try and let me know what action you have taken other than running this patch so I can help you further.  :?
