It is a real pain to have to rename every song downloaded, HELP!
-
Are you using Vista or Win 7?
What folder is set for incoming files?
-
Vista and C:\Users\My Name\Music
-
ok, change that
make a new folder C:\Incoming (or whatever name u wanna give it) and point winmx to it as your incoming files folder
And do similar for your shares, put them in a folder C:\Myshares\ unless you just use the one for both, altho i like to keep them separate (On different drives, lol) but over 200gb of library and an 80gb boot drive kinda forces that
-
actually the fact that winmx does not auto-rename the completed files is not caused by the path or name of the folder, you should give winmx the right permissions so that it is allowed to change the file titles ;)
-
perhaps so, but you can tell him how, Josh
changing the locations tho can usually mean a better location
the permissions issue is done for security reasons, and we still dont understand why M$ had to put 'My Music' into that restricted permissions section
-
If your incoming and share folder are the same sometimes files aren't renamed. Say you download a big file and before it is complete you start to upload it, then the download will eventually finish but if the upload is still going renaming isn't possible.

Well sorry if this is a bit late but really I'd like to think a vista or w7 user will eventually get directed to the vista stickies
