Title: Auto-Status upon entry into an FXServer-hosted ChatRoom?
Post by: PenMax on September 02, 2006, 03:36:45 pm
How does one code for auto-status to be given to admins (@) and members/agents (+) upon coming into the room?

I've tried:
/forcelogin %NAME% <password>
and
/setuserlevel %NAME% <access letters>
... both in conjunction with Admins-specific & Members-specific Usergroups.

[I'm using a Metis ChatBot 2.60 through a RoboMX 1.40 ChatClient, hosted by FXServer 1.3.9 and viewed in WinMX 3.54 beta 4]

those are the WCS commands for setting access levels

i believe fxserver uses /addadmin or something similar (don't use it myself though, but someone will no doubt correct me if it's not /addadmin)

Thanx for ur replies KM & Omega but ...

Essentially the problem is one of the Bot not auto-setting entrants to Admin or Member/Agent status as they enter my ChatRoom!

I've tried both coding methods below, in conjunction with Admins & Members Usergroups, and they DON'T work.

Manually, they each do work!!

My gut feeling tells me it may have something to do with giving the Bot Admin status, which I'd prefer not to do.  What leads me to believe to this feeling is the *, given like a letter access, allowing the ability to change a user's status; however, this is limited to the enabler bot (in my case) having the letter-accesses-inheritently which are to be given.

> * - You can change the access level of the other users. (You cannot give a letter that you don't possess) This command allows a user to give a level to another user through the command /setuserlevel nickname + letter. Obviously a consumer that doesn't possess the letter "J" cannot give it, if it will try the result it will be such:
/setuserlevel nickname +J
Denied access

the bot would need to be an admin, no other non-admins can do it, the bot is no different, otherwise there would be nothing stopping any other non-admin bot going in and admining its owner

Thanx KM ...

Thought as much.  Itz going to spoil my nice division between @'s and +'s worse luck.  Bots are (were now) definitely + in my book. LOL

Cheers.

[advert]on WCS you could give it full access, and not have any symbol next to it (look like a normal user)...[/advert]
