Hi there, new here.

Hi, i'm not a new winmx user. I've used the program up from 2000 until about late 2004. I was into ace of base a little too much back then that i spent the time to gather up the whole discography (ace of base is depressing stuff, i stopped listening to them). Then i just stopped for some reason. I was pulled over to irc, then to torrenting. Why download track by track or episode by episode when you can get it all in one download instead, torrenting is great for bulk downloads.

Then, i came back to winmx in 2007 for the reason of getting a hold of a lot music that i could only find on winmx. It worked great, after i learned how to properly run winmx through wine first (that pesky oledlg.dll, setting it to native is still easy to forget).

Then three years later i came back, but for good this time. My roommate and i use dialup because that's all we have in the area. He just wanted to listen to one f3cking song, why not use the internet, streaming fm quality sound on dialup is pretty easy. Not with how bloated all places on the internet have made their music streaming services though. An hour and a half to load all of that flash crap was stupid, and then when flash is all loaded, everything's all nice and timed out.

This pissed my roommate off to high heaven. So i said, ok, well i got a solution, here's this awesome little program called winmx that's a lovely little napster rip off and doesn't treat you like a retard, and also has the perk of getting an mp3 on average fifteen minutes on dialup. He was sold instantly, inbetween waiting fifteen minutes, i taught him how to listen to the partial download to make sure he got what he was looking for before it finished. Like many other people, he's on the network for the oldies.

Then i decided to come back to winmx too. What a great marvel it is. It's had it's head chopped off, and re-attached. I've also been checking out the features of winmx that i never used before like chat, boy i wish i used chat back in the day on this program :x

I was also lurking checking out the rivalry of mxpie info and the community dll patch. Yeah, quite obvious the community dll patch is superior and much easier to use. Why so many stayed with mxpie info or switched too it? They must have been total sheep. Very interesting how it went on for years, but i'm very happy to see collaboration from them finally for a much more ensured future of winmx.

And here i am. I live in alaska with the stupid seven month winter and my dog i leave outside when it's -30F. I graduated college and got my associates as an information technology specialist. I am very big on learning, i do tons of research on a lot of things. After all, it's better to know how something works before you use it, and the more knowledge the more knowledgeable. For the most part, i do know how winmx works, but i have some questions regarding the patch that isn't really addressed that i'll ask later.

Anyway i have lived in alaska all of my life, we do have seven month winters, short but very warm summers, and amazingly low temperatures like -50F and sometimes lovelier lows like the rare -70F.

Good to be back, glad to know there's this cool place too.

Hi Shami

Welcome to winmxworld.com and I do complain about the cold weather but oh those temperatures do sound freezing.

Happy winmxing and please ask away with any questions.

Greetings Shamil!

It is great to see you! Let me join tig in welcoming you to winmxworld. I just cannot imagine living in a place where it might get 50-70 degrees below! Perhaps some little part of the cold Alaska air could drift into Georgia in the USA where we've reached 105 degrees Fahrenheit!

All the best to you Shamil!

:walk:Well move here all you want. A million people is all that lives in this state. And right now it's summer, so the sun doesn't set. We're bigger than texas and california, and with only a million people, it basically means any property you want can be bought.

For myself i prefer warm climates very warm like georgia i would love right now. The winter sort of grows on you but by about january you are soo tired of it, that spring comes in the end of april.

Good to be here regardless.
