Searching in WinMx

Have not used WinMx for a couple of months.Started shearching for some files that would usually only find 10 to 20 files,all with some relavence to my search request.
Now I get upto 4.000 files all with no relevance to me search criteria 
I have reinstalled my WinMx v3.5 beta 4 with patch
HELP PLEASE
