When speaking to Business Insider, an anonymous record industry insider said the “twist” is a new sharing feature that allows Google Music users to share songs with others “on a limited basis.” Apparently, the catch is that once users purchase a song and share it with friends, the friends will only have a limited time until the sharing will expire, teasing them just enough to make them want their very own copy. This record industry insider also said that Google Music will allow users to “pin” songs to their device, essentially caching songs for play when no network connection is available.
