downloads went from 4.00- to nowhere

perhaps someone can help. I have downloaded the latest patch hoping it would help , but hasn't. My OS is XP home- no firewall and anti virus is configured.  Have been having this problem for a couple weeks. I used to have downloads @ 4.00 or less K/s. Now "anything" I download or people uploading to me is no better than 0.13 K/s. I believe all my routers are configured also. PLEASE help?

Do you run primary or secondary on WinMX?
Also who is your provider of internet service?
What ports do you use?

I have dial up so it has to be an secondary connection. I have a local internet provider. TCP port was 16699 UDP was 16725? i believe. read some more posts and changed TCP to 1720 and UDP to 3339.

Those ports should be fine...

I have ad aware and run it thouroughly. But something must have worked, because I shut winmx down and started it today and connections are dang well faster. Until get more than one download going...my bad. So I take it it is my ISP?

Not necessarily, at least not using software for throttling your p2p use.  Its usually Cable companies that like to rip their customers off not 56k or dial up.

How ever non standard ports are still suggested and there will be days that will seem like everything is going great and others they dont.. thats not uncommon, also you have to remember the speeds greatly depend on who your getting files from, and their setups as well..

Keep an eye on it and we shall see how it goes..
