Confused.
« on: September 13, 2012, 02:31:28 pm »
Hello Everyone,

I used to be a HUGE WinMX user when things were active. I recently started reading on the internet about the current status of the WinMx world and noticed that there are many conflicting opinions on wether or not this is a good program to use again. WinMx was once the best way to get a wide variety of files and I would love to start using it again. But, like I stated, I'm confused now on the proper way to connect, search, and share, and confused about the program working at all, and if it is safe to use. Should I persist, or is it still all up in the air? I have hundreds of gigabytes to share but require some help on this topic. By the way, I've read many posts within this very forum and I'm still not certain. Anybody that can provide some help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Due to the current state of the network, the attacks or malicious traffic on the network makes the winmx dififcult to use to the moment.
Searching for files is limited to directly browsing users in chat rooms or in your queue or using opennap connections instead of the WPN.
The underlying principles that made privacy one of the strengths of winmx is still one of the underlying principles of the network.

Just to make it clear, we do not support sharing of files you don't have the right to share but we are very concerned about users right to privacy.
