This is a fairly long article so I'm only supplying the URL. It's worth taking note of the loud protests from the big boys against any attempt by the EEC to improve your privacy.

I wonder sometimes how much of this data collection/marketing push is just the emperors new clothes.

So say the big boys win and they know everything about what we do on our computers, are they really going to be able to sell us any more stuff?
