On what is happening with the new client?

I have to say as it is the new client is awful.

It fails in almost every department, in fact I prefer the old client.

I hope it is being worked on and fixed soon as I fear this is the last hope for winmx.

Yes Joanne, OurMX is being worked on.

I was talking to one of the developers and from my limited understanding it sounds like the library has been fixed.
I understand a number of the other bugs have been fixed also.

I think you will find it's a Beta release and the object of a Beta release is to show up any bugs, although It would probably have been better to release it as an Alpha as an Alpha release indicates that you should expect a fair amount of bugs. Have a little faith as there are people putting in a lot of hard work on the new client.

Alpha releases are for internal testing within an organisation or development team i.e. the WMW test team.

Beta releases are for wider spread testing outside of the organisation.

I think you've mixed up Release Candidates and Beta Releases.

Seems it's time for an impromptu progress report 

As Silicon has mentioned the developers are hard at work on many of the annoyances and are replacing the whole of the library as the current one has some serious limitations so please excuse the delay in the next release. I hope most of you are now happy the client project is real and ongoing and are patiently awaiting the next release, I don't have a firm release date for the beta 2 yet but it does feel about time another release was made so I'll ask the elves to put in some overtime for you all  and see what can be done
