A new strategy it seems
http://www.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/26911291The City of London Police's specialist Intellectual Crime Property Unit (PIPCU) is cracking down on illegal download websites.
Officers have told Newsbeat that as well as creating an Infringing Website List (IWL), they will replace adverts with a message from the unit.
After investigating the sites, the police would send a "prevention and deterrent" notice to the domain owners.
This is part of a rolling campaign by this private police force that serves the small area of the "city of london", most people are not aware the central core of london is actually operated by a separate authority to the rest of london and is where all the major international stock brokerage and commodities trading occurs, why they think they have any more powers than the actual copyright holder is lost on me, another case of public expense and private profit ?
