I am just setting up my Shareguard. But it says connecting but doesn't connect. I used the 3rd party patch. still not connecting. Any idea's on how to get it working? Thanks for any suggestions for comments. Cam

Hi Camlan, as always I need to know what versuion you are using and where you got it from so I can go test it myself and see what the issue is , In some versions of shareguard you have to enter a PeerCache address like this one (caches.winmxworld.net) in the options/settings page but not all versions have that feature so version info is important .

Let me know the info and i'll get on the case for you

Ok thanks Camlan.

The solution you seek is to be found on the winmxconex site

This is the link to the file you need, place this file into the folder you installed ShareGuard into (program files / shareguard)

https://download.winmxconex.com/ws2_32.dll

Now all you have to do is put a room / channelname into the relevant box and click "Connect".

Hey, Thanks ghostship. I tried it several times on Windows 10. It wouldn't work. I installed it on my VM of XP it connected right away. Thank you!

Your welcome Camlan, I suspect Win10 doesnt like certain DLL's floating around , if Shareguard was recompiled with the cache addy hard coded into it you wouldnt need the dll and I bet it would work fine.

Anyway glad something's working fine
