I can t remember how I managed to end up like this....

Basicaly, whenever I play any Mpeg or my own made VCD on my Window Media Player ... there are a line at the bottom asking me to register my player

- www.moonlight.co.il - and an

buterfly on the screen. Ummm which player I wondered first..... since all the one I am using are free - VLC and WMP -

I can not remember to have downloaded this software myself. I f I did it was just to test it... and I removed it.... still thre is something annoying left behind..... which even reg mechanic did not find yet......

I was just wondering how could I possibly could remove this line and the :shock: butterfly?

Hi zaza

I saw this post and was just wondering if you have go through all the standard things to try to remove this line?

Anti virus scan in safe mode

Trojan scan

Spywear scan / Adawear scan ?

If you have tried all these and had no luck then i would next look in add/remove programmes and see if theres anything there that needs removing.
If this fails to would remove media player and then reinstall it.

I hope this helps a little and i will be looking into this to see what else i can find out about this as i have never came across it before.

yes..... ran Mcaffe scan - MS anti-spyware beta 1
nothing related to this butterfly ....... I am at work now I did not have the time to test again window media player... if you read open the links the player i am asked to register is a MP4 player... I tryed a couple of them.... and removed them... I will keep you informed......

One of the packages you tried didn't uninstall it's codec properly or you PC needs a reboot to get rid of it. If you haven't rebooted since removing them try that. If that fails try installing the klite codec pack. It might overwrite the offending codec and get WMP working properly.

where can I get the klite???
Also, I founf the reg key for elecard MPEG2 converter. Can I delete them... it seems that REGmechanic flies over it every time.... I have contacted twice Moonlight without any success.
