This sounds like another propaganda own goal by the latest RIAA Puppets
http://www.slyck.com/news.php?story=1047Suddenly it's become taboo to head over to Grokster.com. In a transparent attempt to scare potential P2P users, Grokster.com has reinforced its anti-P2P sentiment. The visitor's IP address is clearly displayed in large font, while asserting the user's IP address has been "logged."
The effort is incredibly weak, much like Sharman's attempt to dissuade Australian users, as it's little more than some JavaScript code that can be implemented into any web site. Dozens of scripts, even those usable by forum users, can easily display an individual’s IP address.
With Grokster's assets sold to MashBoxx, perhaps the only people this quasi-daunting effort will scare off are those looking for legal alternatives.
After the former owners sold out and hot footed it with the residues of their profits the new "Grokster" name owners are taking their turn over the barrel to deliver a moronic javascript message that "your IP has been logged " for paying a ordinary legal visit to the grokster site.
Cheers Mashboxx for playing the RIAA puppet.
I believe the Mashboxx CEO,s name is Wayne Russco who was an early rat from the sinking Grokster ship, what a lamer.
