Update Install-2.0.exe... any comments?

G'day, I'm using v3.54 beta 4 and in the top window there is "Patch Operational and then 'Update Available, Click here to update'?" Which sends you to:- https://www.winmxgroup.com/... but others I have chatted with have not got this in their windows... Is it a valid update?

Yes, it's valid - but anybody using the pie patch wouldn't see this of course

my only beef with the new patch at the moment is the fact that the "patch operational" and "share your files" messages on the top left corner of WinMX have disappeared and it looks bare without them!!

If your using XP and WinMx version 3.53, you can still install the patch only labled for 3.54 beta 4.  That like always works with both 3.53 and 3.54 b4.

The problem is that if a 98/ME system user wants the Winmxgroup patch they have to use 3.53 with the olepro32.dll.  Because 98 and ME dont recognise ws2_32.dll.

I know this is a bit confusing, but if you want your message back and your on xp, you can reinstall the 2.0 no-MX.exe for 3.54.  This will NOT replace your WinMx, only put a ws2_32.dll in your WinMx 3.53 folder.

The best news is that either patch work identically, meaning they both have the blocking functions, so its really just a matter of a blank space or not for xp users...

if the installer tries to use the 3.53 version it normally means that it has either detected an unsupported operating system (windows 9x) or it has detected IE 7 (which is known to cause issues with the 3.54 patch) - you can try changing it to 3.54, would be interested in any cases where the installer detects this incorrectly (it does try to be on the safe side and chose 3.53 when it isn't sure of course)

OK thanks Me Here and KM I understand I downloaded the olepro into my 3.53 instead of the correct 32dll. Problem sorted "patch operational" and "currently blocking the flooders........." displaying in top left corner. Can't fault it!!!
