having probs dwnloading and getting a stable connection

Hi I am currently havin probs with winmx beta connecting, i connect as a primary user but it is bein very unstable and doesnt bring up many files on search queries and resuming files is proving impossible. Please help. Don't know if this hs caused the prob but I recently tried to set up a home network. The only other symptom is that whereas usually I will have P=6 - S=12 (approx) I now have P=3-S=0.

Welcome to the site.
This is because your router is blocking ports, the S=0 is a dead give away that the ports are blocked and not allowing you to get the best out of your WinMx on primary.

So the router will have to be configured to allow specific ports for WinMx to use, here is a tutorial that will help you get started then direct you to Portforward.com to finish up.

I'm startin to think that the reason I'm havin probs is bcause i set up a network connection but really I wanted to connct 2 comps directly so now I have network stup but never had a router and I don't know how to take the network place off. Sorry to be so clueless but can you offer me some advice about this. Thanks
