Secondary Connection Gets Disconnected Frequently, Why?

Hi, any one has any idea why my secondary connection gets disconnected frequently?  I use the 2.9 pie host file substitution.

Is it just your secondary connection, or your whole router disconnecting?  I had an issue when using WinMX where the DNS cache on my router kept overflowing and then disconnecting me from everything.  I solved it by setting the router to pass queries directly to my ISP rather than cacheing any resolved names locally.

Are you running PeerGuardian to block RIAA attempts to sabotage the network?

Nano,

c2R is right about the flooding taking a tole on the network, although you being on secondary its not as important for you to run the Peer Guardian unless you also use primary at times.

What version of WinMx are you using, 3.53 has an issue where when you call for a room list you disconnect so there are ways we can fix that if we know more about your operating system, and WinMx.

Also the flooding is a huge problem, if you search for files that are heavily flooded its possible that you can actually knock your primary offline if you dont use the filter -user.  This is due to the amount of flooders we have via hosts file primaries that are not using peerguardian.

How to filter fakes

let me know the other info and we can see about helping to stabilize ya some, although until primaries are protecting us, this is going to be a problem.
