Brainwashing And Propaganda

Folks have you noticed that when the industry/Cartel people talk they all sing from the same prayer book ?

This is no coincidence and all stems from the fact that they employ people to write the mantra/rhetoric and embedd it with keywords, for example,  you will read P2P, and a few sentences later either the word "piracy" or "Illegal".
This practice is an insult to any sensible reader as it means otherwise useful and informative articles lose any claim to impartiality, you may have noticed I have taken to practicing it myself when I read this sort of article to counter the writers obvious bias
I expect a better style of report from professional and reputable
journalists, or is that too much to ask ?

We as adults are able to see this sort of trick, but what of the children ?

The list could go on all day but you see that the industry can afford to hire full time folks to perpetuate some of what would best be described as half truths, at worst lies.

Your children will respect a balanced opinion from you, and please do take the time to inform them of the pros, and cons of your filesharing activities, dont allow these people to assume your parental responsibilities.

One other major point: in the hysteria of the moment, everyone is forgetting the main way an artist becomes successful - exposure. Without exposure, no one comes to shows, no one buys CDs, no one enables you to earn a living doing what you love. Again, from personal experience: in 37 years as a recording artist, I've created 25+ albums for major labels, and I've never once received a royalty check that didn't show I owed them money. So I make the bulk of my living from live touring, playing for 80-1500 people a night, doing my own show. I spend hours each week doing press, writing articles, making sure my website tour information is up to date. Why? Because all of that gives me exposure to an audience that might not come otherwise. So when someone writes and tells me they came to my show because they'd downloaded a song and gotten curious, I am thrilled

This recording/performing artist has written many great rebuttals and lots of  information to many of the industrys rhetorical claims, 100% worth a read if your an in the business, or want to be.

Many of the ideas expressed by the author are still not being taken up by the Cartel, its members need to have a bit of a corporate house cleaning maybe.
