The head of the US copyright office has accused Congress of making a mistake by extending the length of copyright in America, calling the term "too long," and saying that Congress made a "big mistake."
The remarkable admission came at the tail end of an event held at the UNC Law School on November 2, 2005, when Mary-Beth Peters, the Register of Copyrights, and a panel of copyright scholars, lawyers and bureaucrats convened to deliberate copyright in public.

Peters can be heard making the statement one minutes and eight seconds into the video.

This view echo's my own on this issue, handing a finacial monopoly to a business can never be in the public interest when the public are entitled to the item freely.
Lets see the corrupt politicians named and shamed for selling the US folks down the river.

Your request is not an unreasonable one. It's written in the American constitution that all of the government officials who vote for a certain piece of legislation must do so by name, and that the mames must be on record. Finding out who's in the RIAA's pocket should be easy to discover just by reading the records of who consistently votes for the industry and against common sense.
