Changing settings primary to secondary connection
« on: June 26, 2005, 03:45:48 am »
Hi, my ISP 'shapes' or reduces the speed of my connection to a lower speed of  64kbps after a 10GB dowload limit has been reached.  Should I adjust my settings in WINMX to secondary after reduction in connection speed or just leave it at primary connection?  I apologise if this is a dumnb question or has been answered before.

Cheers

I think at those speeds you should go to a secondary connection.. usually to have a stable primary connection requires a 256kb connections speeds..

Its not a dumb question, its one of concern for your self and the network so thats great... hope this helps ya out.. and .. welcome to the forum ..

Happy Networking ...

i'd suggest using secondary even whilst you are getting full speed - as primary uses a lot of bandwidth, so its probably burning up a lot of your 10GB limit when it doesn't need to
