The patch was made by a member of the winmx community and so were the new peer caches.
Any site telling you otherwise and you've got to pay for your winmx is simply a SCAM !You've got the choice of getting a complete patched winmx or just the patch, both installable versions, quite easy to do.
This will set you up with an extra .dll in your winmx folder that will redirect your winmx to the newly set up peer caches and everything should be working as normal.
