UPLOADING FROM MYSELF

It doesn't happen all the time, but how is it that I come up as a search result from my own file searches and sometimes find myself downloading from myself?

It's a glitch, i think there's a fix/workaround too, but damn if i can remember it right now, someone will point you in right direction tho

I remember back to WinMX 2.6 I could do that, but I never found myself in 3.x. I thought 3.x filtered your own name or something. Maybe your user name in WinMX is very long?

If I remember it's a 3.54 thing, MeHere touched on the subject in a thread somewhere on here, but I can't find it, & reading through MeHere's posts on search by authour is a MONUMENTAL task.. it's SOMEPLACE on this forum.....

Whenever I whois or browse myself, all my uploads and downloads slow to 0 and the uploads and downloads take a miute or so to resume, by the time by which most are always timed out by the person at theother end

Is my router bloacking it? Can anything be done about?

are you on primary or secondary? on secondary it could tie up the secondary connection if you browse yourself (or anyone else) however it shouldn't cause any effect on the file transfers, on primary it should have no effect at all

I am on Secondary most of the time. I have never tried it out in Primary

on secondary it would be normal for it to cause timeouts whilst a browse is loading, because while it is sending down the file list no other data can get through on the secondary connection (such as transfer requests etc), however if a transfer is already running then it shouldn't effect that transfer (except for the small decrease in avaliable bandwidth as some is used for the secondary connection to load the list)

No i mean my uploads are running at 27 kbps and then after a few seconds, there is 0 kbps speed. It just completely stops. Not even those occasional 10-50 bytes of data sent while sitting idle. Just plain 0 until I close the whois window or browse window.
It then takes a minute or so before everything is normal. All this is of running downloads or uploads. All green over the screen turns red.

0.0 erm, that is not normal... however if it's only when browsing/whoising yourself i would say don't browse/whois yourself is a good fix

No problem now I went to the winmx chat room and found that i could browse and whois myself. It everything is fine now. Mabye i had a bad connection for a few days or something. Thanks for help.
