Newbie connection issue

Hi. Please forgive me if this question is stupid but ive run out of options.
Ive been using Winmx for about a year and recently got a new Comp. Since then ive been unable to connect to the program and i dont know why.
Ive tried looking for info but there are many version and patches and i dont know which is best.
Can someone please tell me what version to get and what patch?. Thank you much appriciated

The best connection patch atm.. is the the WinMX Group patch, it has many features.  The most exciting is the ability to filter fakes from your search results, its also got a blocking feature that keeps the riaa/macrovision from connecting to you as a secondary and uploading fakes onto the and using you to DOS other users, it doesnt need updates every time a peer cache changes IPs for connecting you.

Look for the Various WinMX Versions + Patch

Download it, choose your WinMX version during installation.. and thats it!
