« on: June 26, 2006, 06:31:30 am »
i have had reoccouring problem which has expanded i use winmxmoniter to block leechs from d/l every so often when i clear ignore list  my system chucks a wobbly and i have to reboot so i can see whats on my screen as page goes weird colours and pulldown windoows go black this was bearable except when d/l was going good but after installing the new batch on a clean reformat system.
winmxmoniter no longer blocks non sharers and it keeps puting up whoisit screens it does not show who it is allowing to d/l any more i have removed and reinstalled twice but still get the same effects
my 2 questions are can refused d/loaders zap winmcxmoniter to make it chuck a wobbly and freakout
second question is does the new patch affect winmxmoniter averselly?
i prefer to share with people who share back wimmxmoniter is set to starnard setting for shareing  so i dont think i am asking to much off my d/loaders with shareing
any help or advice would be greatly apreiated
thanks tarl

ps: yes my spelling sucks in know lol

I think you mean mx moniter. No the new patch does not affect mx moniter in any way. No people in the ignore list cannot do anything to your computer. they cannot bypass mamoniter n your system.. At least i think they can't. ;)
Your problem must have a solution. I suggest you have a look at the mx moniter tutorial in the googies>upload managers>mx moniter
That may contain the solution to your problem.
Do tell what happened
Cheers :)
Reconnect to winmx with the blocking patch :)

Do you use MxMon to start WinMX? If so have you tried starting WinMX & then starting MxMon?  I've seen it reported on some systems running XP SP2 that getting MXM to function correctly can depend which order it & WinMX are started in, whichever way round you start them, try reversing the order & see if it helps.

Hi tarl,

The most important setting in Moni is in the Top Settings button, above where you set up preferences..

Click this top Settings button and Choose Enviromental Settings:

Make sure it is ticked to
Start Monitoring when WinMX is started.
Start WinMX when MXM is started.

Then choose WinMX Path

Make sure this point to the Same Winmx.exe file that your using.
You can be sure that path is correct by right clicking any shortcut icon you use for WinMX and choosing properties.  These two Target and MXM patch should match exactly.
