why some of my files are 0 in my library?
« on: October 16, 2005, 02:53:44 pm »
I was checking to see that my files were all available and noticed some say 0 files next to the track name?
I don't want people to think I'm not sharing, and well most are ok but wondering what I can do to fix it?

Also if I check whois when someone is uploading from me and it says they have 0 files would there be a reason for this to show 0 if they were actually sharing? I don't want to get it wrong and question them if it's some other problem?
and if I ask the question how long should I wait to get a reply before cancelling on them?

There is only one reasion why bthey don't seem to have any files shared.

THEY AREN'T

Ask them why. If they don not reply for five minutes, cancel them. You will not have 0 files shared and have users uploading from you . So don't worry.

Often times when your files show a 0 beside them its an indication of a damaged track, sometimes even just the 'header' information that tells WinMx about the track is whats damaged.  The track may sound and look fine when you play it but its usually a good idea to either redownload such files or re rip them to share.

I am having the same issue. I just ripped some new CD and they show '0'. Its only the ones i just did in the past few days. The Cd before that, before I downloaded the new WinMX version are sharing fine. I want to be able to share all my music so the favore can be returned. Any suggestions?

Hi Frog,

You probably had a different file type allowed in the other WinMX version.. remember .wma files are not shared by defalt if these where done on Windows Media Player..

Here is a guide to your new version WinMX....
