Cartel - Internal Takeover Battle Rages On

This is a joke to many I expect, but I like to keep on on the big players who throw billions around while suing the dead and the poor for their life savings.  :x

UK-based music group EMI has turned down a £2.5bn ($4.6bn) takeover offer from US rival Warner Music Group, the firm which it is itself trying to buy.
The 320 pence a share approach from Warner is the second the UK group has received in less than two weeks.

Both Warner's offers have been "wholly unacceptable", EMI said in a statement.
The UK firm has already made two approaches to Warner, following talks with Warner's management and with some of its shareholders.

A combination between the two firms would slim the roster of global music majors down to three, making a new group similar in size to Sony-BMG and Universal Music.
EMI's most recent financial performance, published in late May, showed the firms profits up 13% in the year to March on the back of surging download sales.

I suspect like me folks you are surprised to see these companies playing the "buy-each-other-out " game while complaining each year of a (fictitious) drop in profits, pity they forgot to tell the RIAA propaganda machine that they seem to bel doing rather welll, we can still read the BS of how poor they are for the foreseeable future no doubt.

You can't get that kind of money out of nowhere. Their drop in profits can't be all that big or it would already be making headlines each quarter. (I doubt there is any significant drop at all) The trouble is, most people can't make this out. So people will keep thinking that they are losing money, when all these companies are doing are swindling billions more out of people.

File sharing is a bit new compared to other means of so called stealing File sharing isn't though it can be used for it. The old time friend radio is still there and it is not all that difficult to record from the radio. Who knows, mabye we will have a ban in on all recorders as well ;)
