Uploading problem
« on: May 07, 2007, 03:29:06 pm »
I've just bought a new computer and linked it to my old one with a modem router.  The problem is that those wishing to upload from my library are being denied access and I don't know why.  Has anyone out there any thoughts and/or solutions?  I do want to share files but am at a loss how to sort this out.  HELP!!!

Hi Twankey,

Here is a starter guide for your problem:

https://www.winmxworld.com/tutorials/routers_info.html

This will get you the info you need and the links to go on to the site called Portforward.com in order to completely forward your ports and get this working for you.  Let us know how you get on..

Thats going to depend Onjolay,

Do you have a router or DSL modem that may have a router built in?
What firewalls are you using?

What way do you connect to WinMX?  Secondary or Primary?

why can't people download from me. Why do they get a message that says I'm refusing their request?

The reason is that more then likely your modem has a built in router.. this means that in order for your uploads to work you'll need to go into the router and open the needed ports.

Here is a guide to help you to do that:
https://www.winmxworld.com/tutorials/routers_info.html

Have a look through this and it should help you get sorted..
