My old computer had WinMX and on it, it still works fine.
However, on this new computer it is always finding network connections. Ive updated my WinMX and downloaded the patch. Can anyone help me out?

What patch did you install ?

Make sure you got this 'New Patch' you have from here

https://www.winmxgroup.com/downloads.html

Use the Various WinMX Versions + Patch and then let me know if you are still not connecting, its also worth while to remove WinMX from firewall rules after this and allow it to re ask or re add the rules again.

Twinkle can you clarify for us what you set up is

What patch you have, also maybe where you got it as the versions of pie seemed to match the dll now..?
What version of WinMX are you using?
When you changed patches did you see a flash screen When WinMX started?
Do you have any icons, shorcuts, or WinMX foldes on your desktop?

I just installed the patch which upgraded WinMX to 3.54b (was 3.53) on a Win98 machine and now it will not connect. I continually get a yellow flashing light and 'connecting'. What changed? THIS is why I hate messing with something that worked.

Did you see a splash screen on startup of winmx? If so then the likeliest cause is your firewall blocking it because of the program change, in which case you need to remove & then re add tthe firewall rules for winmx.
