loosing my upload and download queue.

Hi ive been on mx about a year ( on 3.53) ime on win xp broadband 512k ,cable modem,.Ive noticed if ive been on mx a couple of days and ime in download quees they all drop off leaving me with only the actual download ive connected to,at the same time my upload que gets smaller and smaller until ime left with just the people or person who is actually uploading from me.This is a pain as its sometimes hard to get certain files and once queued it would be actually nice to get to the front of the queue without loosing my place.Any idea whats causing it?

sometimes 3.54.4 winmx  works better than 3.53 to fix certain problems.

Yes thanks for that wills ive done that ,no probs yet ,very similar  layout to 3.53 except the library looks a little different.bye.

James, another reason that items can fall away is that the recording industry can be flooding some of the other primaries until they drop, losing you your connection that went through them, make sure you have Peer Guardian2 installed, this goes for any primary user, they can only flood the network if we let them connect, Peer Guardian helps stop them a bit.

Ok thanks for that ghostship ive noticed there may be some compatability issues with maccaffe on another post,do you think this will be the same for norton or is  it just a case of try and see what happens.I could uninstall norton and possibly install the syngate freeware ,what do you think is the best thing to do is

are you running a primary or a secondary connection?
if you are on primary, it may be like ghostship says with them flooding you. 512k isn't really enough to withstand a flooded search these days.
If you are on secondary, does your WPN connection drop when it happens?

I myself use sygate as do most of the old time Mx folks as its free and it works

Thanks neutron and ghostship ive uninstalled norton and installed syngate,i was on a primary but ive now connected as a secondary.No probs so far ,the up and downloads are much better and ive not had a drop off yet.Is there any point as ime now on a secondary installing peerguardian 2?Not sure about the wpn but will keep my eye open.Seems to all be running hunky dory.Keep up the good work dont know what i would do without you lot,thanks

PS: If you do go primary its 100% vital that peer guardian is used, as without it they can use you to flood the network with fake file listings   , take care
