It seems that we are seeing the creation of a break away pie team lead by Gem and Jim, the issue causing the break was one of whether to block or not as many of you know we support blocking, as you also know it works

Vladd and Nobby and Sable are now in agreement that blocking is the way forward and as such its my duty to support them in making efforts to do so where its possible, I hope you all agree that its better for us to sing from the same hymn book when it is helpful to the network to do so, in the case of blocking I feel it is.

I have made a post in the news section that passes comment on the matter but I hope that it will pass off quietly and they self organise themselves soon, its at least helpful that some of the pie team are now seeing how important blocking is.

At first sight it would seem like a right mess being caused by them now, but I think this could be good for everyone involved. I don't believe this will cause any disruptions to users at all (unless sabre throws another fit, but it wouldn't be the first time that had happened anyway...) however i think gemini and jim being out of pie can be beneficial.

Gemini and Jim have always been opposed to blocking "because it's evil winmxworlds idea" and have been the leaders of the "don't block, let flooders on" rubbish from pie, Vladd has been more silent on the matter, simply not doing enough to sort out the flooders issue, rather than actually being opposed to it - perhaps the lack of action was due to gemini and jim and with them gone he will start to do something about it?

Gemini has set up mxpie.info to try and take over and replace vladd, but to be perfectly honest they haven't got a chance, the only thing keeping pie around is vladds reputation from back when his website was the number one help site - something that gemini doesn't have.

I hope that now with them out of the way vladd will start to move pie in the right direction, and I'm certainly not going to lose any sleep over the largest anti-winmx element of pie being ousted... from what I can tell it was more a personal disagreement rather than anything winmx related, which is a shame because really they should have been thrown out for their anti-winmx actions long ago, but still the end result is they are gone and that's all that matters...

Its no surprise that this has happened.You don't see many people stay around vladd44 room for much longer than a year at most.

I do question vladds turn around on blocking.Is it for the network or just for his page? Seeing how people have used their own minds and chose blocking fake files over any thing they had to offer with pie.

I have to wonder if this is a last ditch effort to keep Vladd44 .com a player in the p2p world. From the looks of things the use of his forum has droped the last few months.He has coused great damage to it by letting free speach go the wayside.His admins have really hurt the forum with their actions.They dont seam to understand you cant sale Mx if no one comes to their page.

Any way its the best chance winmx was had in over a year to move on and really rebuild.This is the first agreement on any thing we've seen yet No matter what his reason for coming out for blocking.

I really have to say TY to Knobby for the way he has stood up for the users the past few months,and id say a big ty to the users is in order for standing up and letting it be known they want blocking.Im sure this is a big part in the change of attitude by vladd.

Now all pie needs to do is start with a good blocking program and sorry to say get rid of one other Saber replace his server or servers with reliable friendly servers and they will be on track.

I hope the split between the pie team does not confuse any new people.
All we can hope for is that jim and gem's attempt to keep users from a real solution to the fake file flooding is short lived.

i cant help but wonder what the pie users are doing... has there been any more development done to pie since the breakup or is it pretty much dead in the water? anyone have -any- infos as to whats going/been going on? many thx...

For now, there has been nothing more than a little internal squabbling over blocking, and some personal differences.

Pie are doing nothing...

however interestingly it would seem that it is more than merely a simple split in pie, from what i can gather the main split was just gemini and jim breaking up from vladd with the main pie members all staying out of it, however it then became most of pie being "on gemini's side" with few of them supporting vladd, and to add to it they have had a few internal squabbles, and most of the pie members in their help rooms not liking any of the "leaders" etc... they are in a right mess

there are 3 ways this could turn out:
1. Gemini and Jim basically take over a shattered pie, and continue to deceive users instead of vladd
2. Vladd manages to get rid of Gemini and Jim and start moving pie in the right direction
3. Pie are completely destroyed by this, and we can finally start clearing up their mess and getting the rest of winmx restored to how it is meant to be and not how pie want it to be

somehow I doubt 2 is going to happen, and I'm not sure about 3... but judging by the pie chat rooms it looks like 1 is a possibility, a very very bad possibility...

btw, for the record I have sent 2 emails to vladd to try and start some form of dialogue so we can work together to prevent number 1 (which I'm sure all would agree is the worst thing for everyone)... he however did not even bother to reply to me, which is quite a clear answer...

I was rather suprised at Nobbys stance on this one, he does after all know that we are merely reporting on published and public facts, those facts point to a major rift in the pie organisation, I suspect he is merely doing his best to smooth over the ever widening crack.

I suppose I would do the same until it became clear that a compromise was not on the cards and positions on important aspects needed to be conveyed to the users, they are the folks we all answer to after all.
