Sorry...  but you can't actually 'report' users to anybody in winmx... as winmx does not happen to have any central authority or body that controls it... You can try to talk to the admins of the chatroom if that's where your problem is .... Or you can report the persons to local authorities, like the police...

Take screen shots of whois and browse... and send it.... mabye it will help... Although that person may be out of your country... Best hit the ignore button and forget about it....

a screen shot of a browse window is nothing, it doesn't identify the person, or the file contents - merely says someone (user unknown) is sharing files with certain filenames

ignore button is the simplest thing to do...

The correct procedure is to take a screenshot of the shared files and whois windows and pass on that info with your complaint as this will mark the time and IP and also help them to trace the exact user by being able to search for the exact titles.

We must all do our bit to protect children and I urge anyone who finds this activity taking place to report it.

reporting someone is just gonna be like your reporting yourself too....
If you dont like what they have just ignore and dont dl it or look at the things that you dont approve of...

I have to disagree with that a bit.. Lets clarify what we are actually talking about reporting..

The original poster mentions child porn.. I take this very seriously and will gladly report and participate in helping others to report this to the proper authorities and let it be dealt with.. and be warned I will use any means possible to obtain screen shots and the needed proof that you are sharing child related porn files..

I can tell you that most agencies related to copyright infringement will laugh their asses off at someone wanting to report a sharer of legitimate files however the child porn is taken very seriously by all.

So yes its ok to report ppl sharing child porn and we at WinMX World actively encourage it..

The last one I reported has files named 5yo girls daddy teaches her about life... now come on.. how can anyone disagree that's shameless and should be dealt with by the proper authorities.. ?

I would not recommend building up a system dealing with any kind of active content control. It would cause an obligation to use it against nearly anything that is a legal matter in any country affected.

The only way to block someone permanently is to block an IP he is using, which is not practicable in Europe, where most Users share dynamic IPs, so any block would hit ramdomly picked users of same ISP as well.

The next Problem would be caused by Obligations we'd gain if we ever had such IPs. Whenever you have curtain knowledge of any activity defined as criminal, you have to report it immidiately in most western countries otherwise being judged yourself.

Another Question we'd have to answer is the variety of Materials defined as criminal in Countries that will be affected. Childporn is one thing, here in Germany zoophilia are judged the same. In some Countries it's anything related to violence and in most countries we'd have to deal with copyrighted material.

And last but not least: I take very serious what happens to children and wish, more people would engage in that, but, i am definitily not willing to take copiyng of copies serious even if it happens with media containing anything i dislike.

We should accept, that we all know there is noone sharing such stuff openly in Winmx who is in any way related to it's production and vice versa. We're talking about stupid youngsters in most cases exchanging lots of bullshit just because they find it extreme and have no understanding at all. I'm not pleased by the idea of families homes broken by Police and parents paying the price.

PS Here in Germany you get under suspection whenever you try to report something related to Childporn or Child's abuse. Usually they break up your home and take anything with them that could be related and you'd have to explain why you did the seach or how you got to your knowledge which in most cases leads to the point getting judged by suspection.

Having my machine taken away for analysis is a small price to pay if it helps trap a pedo from abusing the young, stolen childhood is seldom able to be regained and something to be guarded against by all.

If folks are not happy to report pedo's to the site I posted above then thats their choice but I want to make sure anyone who does want to help stamp out child abuse can do so and in the correct way.

We must all do as we see fit and be judged for it.

the point tho is that some ppl dont like lets say torture..
In my state we have La Chatues where u can be tortured if you like that... some ppl dont like that and its illegal in other places..
the most extreme thing I've ever witnessed online was someone getting stabbed to death... like on that rotton site omg i never had such chills down my spine and just witnessing that scare's you... point is children should never have to go threw what they have been threw, being portrayed as porn stars its f**in sick and should be dealt with...
If we all work together ignore them, dont look at there files, and widdle them off mx would be a A+ and just might help us from being flooded...
