I have had WinMix for several years I found this site and downloaded the patch and now nothing works I keep getting

Error Unicode layer

Unicode wrapper not found: unicows.dll

What is this...? Everything was fine untill I installed the patch....I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times and all the different versions....Can someone help me

Hi Carballoca, it looks like you need a system file your win98 does not have, please download it from here and place it in the winmx folder in Program Files.

is unicows.dll present on your system?
if not it can be downloaded here : http://www.bang.ro/dll/unicows.dll.htm
there is also a nice little explanation of what it is & what it does

Hi.

I took your advice and went to http://www.bang.ro/dll/unicows.dll.htm and downloaded the unicows.dll
unzipped it into my WinMX file in the program files it`s there but I`m still getting the same message that the unicows.dll can not be found...."Totally Confused Now" :roll:
