Problem uploading from other users that are using Lopster ..

Excellent website! I am fortunate to have come upon it. Thanx.

Now, I'm curious to know if this is true: I've noticed that if I attempt to download a file from a user who is using Lopster or XNap, the transfer never seems to go through or even qeue for that matter. Yet these same users seem to have no problem uploading from me on WinMX. So, am I incorrect in assuming these other programs are not compatible with MX or is it simply a coincidence, perhaps the other user is firewalled, so and so forth...???

i dont have any first hand experience of any issues like that, however i did find this on another website

I have to mention that I've had specific problems with WinMX lusers not being able to download a significant number of my files because WinMX doesn't translate "invalid" filenames (those with ? \ ` etc). I'm told that the solution is to switch to TekNap, but I can't confirm this.

but it is a little out of date so i'm not sure if it still applies, but looking at the filenames and paths of the failed downloads might show something helpful?

as for queueing, there are quite a few sites that say about winmx having problems queueing from non-winmx clients, but again no idea how old that information is

The original Lopster was locked out of the WPN ages ago with the implementation of WinMX 3 series any clients you come across will be acting purely as Open Nap clients, and so there should be no problem , that said some servers dont like WinMX users connecting to them.

You can change the client type in the Open Nap setting area by right clicking on a server address and then selecting edit , try selecting another type of client (non WinMX ) to identify yourself to the server and see what happens, that should be interessting
