Why?
« on: September 26, 2006, 12:42:48 pm »
Why would the same user try to connect to me, he himself has 27 downloads going, very few useful shared files, and try to download the same song from different open nap servers over and over.

Apparently, he is hard to ignore.  I've been trying.  LOL!!  I've just found Winmx after missing it over a year, so maybe I could be a newbie and just don't understand what's going on.

Is there anyway easy way to prevent this person from connecting to without having to sit at my computer 24/7.  He gets past the MXMonitor.

Hi Crazy,

Unfortunately, when you share your files they are listed on all OpenNap Servers you connect to.. and because they match the first attempt he makes at it, (the color tells him this on his search) New users often dont realize this is not a multisource download and que up for them all thinking its going to get them the file faster.. the best way to deal with him is to message him and tell him.. 'lookit.. i'd love to get you this file but you need to know that your multiple queues to me from OpenNap will not get you that file faster.'  type of thing.. I would explain how OpenNap is NOT a multipoint download system and then I would start the dern file he wanted to get him to move on.. LOL...

Well most of the people I've talked to are very nice and we have been sharing files really good, so I can't complain.  I think I will unshare that file for a few days.  Thanks for the suggestion.

Oh yeah, he got the file several times.

Ignore is always an option too.. with an open nap user they can be added to hotlist permanently, & re added to ignore as required from there.. if ignore gets cleared for any reson
Blessed is he who expecteth nothing, for he shall not be disappointed.
