bad connection
« on: September 29, 2006, 11:38:07 am »
recently I have noticed that my connection to winmx has become very unstable, any downloads or uploads seem to just sit at zero and when I look at the bandwidth window I find that it is very spikey with lots of gaps in it also the number of Primary's will not go above 4 and it is very rare that I can get any secondary's and niether of them will stay at a steady level.  I have tried reinstalling winmx but this had no effect, I am on tallk talk unlimeted broadband DSL, my machine runs Windows XP Home, with 512 meg of Ram and a 2.8 Ghz pentium 4 processor. I have checked with Bt to see if there is a fault on the line and they reported back saying the line was fine with no faults. could anybody please help me with this problem. :( :?

apparently talk talk block p2p during any time of the day when someone might be awake (between 9am and 1am apparently) which may be causing your problems

you can try the latest winmxgroup patch if you haven't got it already (www.winmxgroup.com) as that often has a more stable connection, but i doubt it will help much - certainly though running a primary connection won't help at all and i would suggest using secondary instead
