winMX Download Accelerator

I've been looking for ways to enhance my download speeds and increase the number of sources I find. That's when I came across a download accelerator.

My questions are:

1. Do these things actually work?

2. If they do, and anybody is familiar with them: I get an error when I try to run them, that say "winMX is not installed." I've installed it. I've checked to see if I have the right version: I do. I've done everything that I could think of. Is there a solution?

3. Is there any other way to increase the sources I find?

Hi Runa , I have looked into these programs and they are usually tools for the fake winmx versions (the ones called winmx 2007 etc that turn out to be Ares clients).

I have yet to see one that would work with a genuine winmx install, there are two tools available to do as you ask but as both have been abused they are not available in our archives , sorry

You can do more than one search in the search box or even connect to Open-Nap using winmx if you need something hard to find.

You can also manually find sources on up to 5 files at once by right click & "Find sources now" in the transfers window, sometimes useful after a restart to re-queue incompletes.. though generally there's no HUGE hurry & just leaving AFS to do it's thing is sufficient

Or you can start multiple searches while you are waiting for the files to find sources.
Typicially most results for me yeild about 50/result hence it's to a major assault of the primary I'm connected to
Most tools for finding sources always harm winmx as you simply can't find sources that are not there.
