i could have posted in the crash thread allso, but i could not find that temp directory with XXXXappcompat.txt to post you my dump

want to describe how crash problems prevent me from using winmxgroups patch. like everyone has mentioned there is allso a message for me "Winmx has encounter a problem and need to close" this ALLWAYS happends..in about 1 hour

what is interesting is when i change to use MXpie patch instead..there have been no crash at all with the other patch. so i must use MXpie even thou i prefer your patch

i have read the sugggestions in the crash thread..that it could be caused by spyware.. i have just reinstalled my whole computer. and a quick thing i did was to install winmx, on a 100% clean installation allso..all from scratch with a new folder. latets patch...and it still crashed after 1 hour
dont know what conclusion i can make that it crashes on a new installation on a new computer.

its really sad. but as long as this goes on i must stick with the other patch

right click on the my computer icon on the desk top choose manage, then event viewer, expand that directory by clicking on the plus, look in both application and system, look for any errors pertaining to winmx, right click on the error choose properties, it will give a brief description of the error along with a error code, can ya let us know what if any results are there .................

also which patch versions have you tried?

of course I'd suggest 3.0 first failing that then 3.1 even though it is beta it has the filtering so worth trying first

if neither works then try 2.2, see if that goes any better (try both versions of 2.2)

would be handy if you would pop into  winmxworld.com_help in the room list easier to sort things live then posting etc.............
but in the meantime here are a few things you could try see if they help, in any respect they wont hurt anyways.............
1st is to add winmx.exe to the exception in dep in windows, access it by right clicking on the my computer icon on the desktop choose properties, then advanced, in the performance section click settings, go to the data excution prevention tab.check the bit saying turn on dep for all programmes and services except those i select, click the add button  simply add winmx.exe..................

secondly.........windows xp and especially with sp2 limits the amount of connections you can have per second to 10 , p2p combined with instant messaging etc easily over loads this .............

thirdly xp has issues with how it handles failed dns quierries..............

In winmx, click the chat button next to the search button. Then click continue to that warning
Now copy paste this: in the filter bar

WinMxWorld.com Help_3F1FAF500666

Then click Join. Wait for about 5-6 seconds. If the room doesn't open, check for spaces in the end od the copy paste, they shouldn't be there Remove them if there are any.
Click join again and you should be in the room.

I think what Bug meant was that it may take a long time to sort the problem. Better that you come into the chatroom, where you can talk and get things done faster.
By the way, if no one answers, wait for sometime, someone will surely come by
