Okay, here's the situation. Hopefully someone can help. I've got WinMX set up on my home computer with 1000s of MP3s available and I know users are downloading from me frequently as I frequently get short "thank you" messages. I'm on my work computer where I'm firewalled. I'm able to download but uploads won't pass. The problem is that I can't see my home computer. I know others can and I know I can download from here from others but why can't I download from my home PC?

searches aren't comprehensive, to make this setup work, easiest way is to leave your home computer parked in a chatroom, then put work computer in from there & browse home pc from userlist

Alternatively connect to opennap servers. There, you can permenantly add people to hotlists (Your home computer) and hence can connect to it whenever need be....
Try searching fpr some files which you are sure that only you have. That will give bigger chances of you seeing yourself.
Typicially, I search atleast 5-6 times before I get a user I want to find...
So it requires patience as well

Parked my home computer in a chat room last night and tried earlier this morning. Found myself but when I browsed, it came up blank. Talked to some folks in the help chat I was parked in and can't figure anything out. Nobody else was able to browse my home PC either so it's apparently a problem on that end. I know I'm port matched and plenty of people download from me and I've received and replied to messages sent to home PC so it all that is working, why can't anyone browse me? Primary connection as well.

that would be a UDP issue on your home system to make it unbrowseable

Okay. Looking at home computer WinMX setup now. UDP set up on port 46257. Port forwarding I assume is operable since I can send & receive messages and others can download from me. What do I need to check?
