Having Connection problems
« on: November 27, 2006, 04:04:50 am »
Hi all,

I am having connections problems with WinMX. I tried deleting everything and reinstall all the versions but it still won't work. It prompt me saying "Your computer can't have any TCP incoming connection". I click "Ignore" and it just won't connect me to WinMX. I turned off all my firewall.

Please help. Greatly appreciated.

Hi Romeo,

first of all you need a patch for winmx to connect which you can get here: https://www.winmxgroup.com/Install-3.0-MultiVer.exe

For the incoming TCP connections you need to find out what exactly is blocking them.
This could be your modem if it has NAT capabilities, a router, a firewall and even an anti-virus program or norton security are good candidates.
Please let us know a little bit more about your system, i.e. what OS are you running, what other programs and what kind of connection you have if you still have problems. :-)

Hi,

I tried the patch but to no avail.

I am using a networking router. It is shared by 5 PCs in my house. I tried turning off the Firewall from my antivirus as well as my windows'. I am running Windows XP.

Thanks.

When you forward your ports, you will need a static IP.
You can see your router model form www.portforward.com and see how to set up a static Ip
Alternatively, if you do not use opennap, the you can try out this patch:
https://www.winmxgroup.com/Install-3.1-MultiVer.exe
It will automaticially forward ports

Cheers :P
