I've been runniing WinMX since last night, and I haven't gotten one incoming upload: still 6 of 6 upload slots, 0 in queue. NOT A SINGLE ONE. Not even a timeout. (When I browse myself and download a file from myself, i'm able to connect and download.)

I'm running 3.54 beta 4, the ws2_32.dll patch, no router or anything, TCP port 58202, UDP port 61202, XP firewall is turned off. Top of the window reads <Online P=5 S=1 SPM=35>

I noticed my ISP (Shaw) started throttling my eMule back in Feb when my upload speeds DROPPED without changing a thing. I changed the client ports and was able to get around that so EASILY- so that's back to normal

...now just this WinMX issue. I thought I'd try to get it back up and running - since this was my main P2P program before Sept. I miss chatting and sharing so much.

Does it look like there could be any way around this? Or is it a lost cause for us Shaw/Roger's customers. Because I will happily switch to DSL just to get back online again LoL!!

The low SPM suggests something else going on apart from port throttling, (which shaw do do), you may have greater success using a secondary connection if this is a typical value, by all means drop ino the winmxworld chatroom WinMxWorld.com_E3D7EFD50D3D where someone will be happy to test your upload/download abilities & discuss the problem.

Mabye, you somehow have 0 files shared (happens, when you accidently reinstall winmx)

But how does that explain the low SPM?

low SPM is probably heavy cpu usage by other processes, that search thread runs at idle priority, i.e. only gets "spare" cpu cycles.. if it's most of the time as low as reported, changing to secondary purely to reduce CPU overhead running winmx is probably a good idea

searches processed depends on firstly how good the connection is to the network (not normally a factor) or CPU speed, a slower CPU will process much fewer searches (also if you changed the search thread duty cycle then that would lower the searches processed)
