Ok, system info first..

WinMX 3.53 (beta)
Win XP pro SP2
BT voyager 205 ADSL modem/router
ISP = BT

Problem is this, if anybody has a clue!

WinMX will make a secondary connection with no problem.
WinMX will make a primary connection - ish. The connection is made (P=5), but no searches/Dl's or UL's happen at all.
Ports have been opened on the modem for TCP/UDP but WinMX still does not seem to be able to make a UDP connection at all, on any port (tried different types of enabling (UDP specific/multiple etc)). Windows firewall has been tried using both the exceptions and switched off totally.

Any ideas, please!

Indeed - BT Voyager 205 ADSL Router

I connect via the LAN not the USB output from it.

Hmm, since trying to map the router port and set the TCP/UDP it seems that my connection is going even more odd..

I now have a secondary connection running but nothing actually DL's (No Q, no UL's, search finds things and Q's but won't actually start a DL).

I hate technology  :P

First..
My bad.. didnt see your router listed sorry..

Second..
Did you verify the internal IP (or LAN IP Address) is correct ?

See https://www.winmxworld.com/tutorials/routers_info.html for instructions..

Also, I understand you seem to know your way around that router but can you just have a look at this page to make sure everything looks like it should.. http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/BT/Voyager205/default.htm

Then the one other thing to make sure is that your uploads are working.. and your using the filters we recommend to search, fakes wont download, so its worth a shot to let ya know this also..
Look here ...esp at number 4
https://www.winmxworld.com/help/help_with_fakes.html

let me know if this helps, doesnt, or no change ...

Ok, I used the port-forwarding page to initially open the ports for the TCP/UDP a couple of days ago. While the TCP port now seems to be working (via WinMX wizard for setup) the UDP isn't.

I don't normally use filters for searches, but still I'm having no luck with a primary connection in getting any result at all   and secondary is now being stroppy at me and not doing anything either...

And now an addition to that information!

After resetting the modem and clearing all the changes and re trying to open the ports, it still will not accept the UDP packets at all. The TCP runs with no problem, but now WinMX will not even allow me to attempt a primary connection as there is no UDP port open...

Now I'm getting confused  :P

Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question.. but you did set a seperate port for you UDP ..

like ..
WInMX  TCP  6699 to 6699
WinMX  UDP  6257 to 6257

I just cant actually see your set up.. so I am trying to think what the problems could be..

Yep, seperate ports opened. I have even tried different port numbers. It only seems to be the UDP port that has a problem.

I have also tried unlocking the entire system (Using DMZ as opposed to a virtual NAT) for access and that still doesn't like UDP packets, although it does seem that it will occassionally allow UDP through (as in the WinMX wizard will set up automatically), but this seems to be only on one setup in three that it will work.

I'm getting really confused with this now  :P
