I have an Intel 3.0 processor with 1 GB ram
latelly winmx freezes when i click a file for download, sometimes the winmx unfreezes after a long time
please advise

When it freezes on a download, is the file usually big, small, or doesn't matter?

How many processes do you have running in the background on your computer when it freezes, and on average?

What kind of security programs do you have running on your computer? Firewalls, and virus scanners.

Which version of winmx? And which version of windows?

THE SIZE DOES NOT MATTER, BIG OR SMALL, BUT YES USUALLY IT HAPPENED FOR SONG ALBUMS WHICH ARE BIGGER THAN 50 MB OR SO

NONE USUALLY WHEN I DOWNLOAD WINMX MOST PROGRAMS ARE CLOSED ATLEAST THERE ARE NONE ON THE BAR, EXCEPT WINMX

What kind of security programs do you have running on your computer? Firewalls, and virus scanners.
WELL I USE SYMANTEC NORTON INTERNET SECURITY 2005 AND SPYBOT,

Which version of winmx? And which version of windows?
WIN MX 3.54 BETA 4 AND WINDOWS XP WITH SP2 WITH 1GB RAM AND 200 GB SATA HDD

ACTUALLY THERE WAS NO PROBLEM TILL FEW DAYS BACK
AND THIS HAPPENED, I THOUGHT MAYBE THE DRIVERS ARE CORRUPT SO I REINSTALLED WITH NEW VERSION FROM WINMX SITE

AND YES THE FREEZING IS RANDOM AND DOES WHEN I CLICK A FILE FOR DOWNLOAD, RIGHT NOW AM ABLE TO DOWNLOAD
BUT MANY TIMES IT DOES NOT ALLOW.

Hi Sachine,

One thing that comes to mind for me is making sure you on a patch that if able to filter and block. When fakes are clicked on for download this can cause lots of problems like your describing.
So where did you get your WinMX from?
What does it say at the top in the update bar below your version information?
Do you use primary or secondary?

Fakes in the incomplete folder looking for sources can cause WinMX to Crash, internet to be lost and certainly loss of other network connections. Be sure to clear any incompletes you have and test them one at a time,

Delete all files in your incomplete folder whcih are less than 100 KB

Where can i get the patch? maybe they are fakes but seems the fakes are still songs
the other day i downloaded an album of Duran duran astronaut and it was really Crossroads by bon jovi, is that fakes?

Did download my winmx from winmxgroup.com

BELOW THE VERSION INFORMATION IT SAYS "PATCH OPERATIONAL"

You're on the right patch, the files we are concerned about dont usually actually download. So you other file is actually mislabled and not a fake like we mean.

The files to be worried about are those that where downloaded before you instlled the WinMX Group Patch, Since it filters fakes for you then these files would have been ones attempted to download prior to that.

They are usually files that wont que up. Find hundreds of souces however never actually download.
